was my first internal boundary point on Iceland (July 2009).

| Norðurþing is located on the
northeastern part of Iceland. The boundary point is on Mt. Hólsfjöll.

| Southeast of Norðurþing is Fljótsdalshérað,
the biggest municipality in Iceland, making 8,884 km². The population
is although only 3465 persons (2009).
